Water / Sewer System Update
December 15 at 11:30am – The Village of Burns Lake is pleased to advise the community that sanitary sewer flows into the Pioneer Lift Station have stabilized and we are returning to normal operations.
The Village thanks the community for your cooperation during this event.
The Village of Burns Lake encourages all residents to subscribe to the Voyent Alert System ((https://www.burnslake.ca/resident-services/emergency-preparedness/voyent-alert-system) by following the included link to receive important and emergent updates and communications from the Village.
The Village of Burns Lake is requesting the public’s assistance to address the current weather event. The rain, in combination with the rising temperatures and melting snow, is placing heavy strain on the pumping system at the Pioneer Lift Station. There is no immediate risk to the public, property or flooding, however, as a proactive measure, the Village is asking the public to reduce demand on the sewer system by limiting all unnecessary discharge into the sewer system including showering, laundry, toilet, dishwasher use and sump pumps until further notice.
